Raised by musicians who were raised by musicians - Daniel Sinclair is continuing a legacy of prairie-inspired songs. At age of 7, he got his first guitar as a gift from his sister. At the age of 13, he played in the Calgary Folk Festival with family and friends. At 27, he played on stage with Tommy Emmanuel in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Hyatt.
Having lived and played across southern Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, Daniel draws his melodies from the west. He's played on radio, recorded for film, and he's performed shows from bars to chapels, from breweries to theaters.
Daniel was a member of the band Ask The Wind, a Vancouver-based folk and country trio that played in Vancouver and around BC's lower mainland. The band was made up of Daniel, Atlin Morgan and Maya Eliza and it played its farewell show on April 12, 2025 shortly before Maya planned to move away.
"The fans and musicians that I really love have such an appetite for music. It's like they can't really live without it, and I get it because neither can I. People build communities with music, and I can't get enough playing for people who love music as much as I do!
